The Stihl Rollematic ES Light Bar is a big game-changer when it comes to weight on your saw. The ES light bar are 30% lighter than the Stihl Rollomatic E Super guide bar, spread that out over the day cutting wood and its a hell of a difference. The bar is made from the same wear-resistant steel but they achieve the weight difference because the solid bar is milled out and filled with aluminum to in that 30% lighter than the ES Light bar! This weight differentiation helps to improve the balance of the chainsaw when moving or using it for certain jobs like limbing. A lighter bar also means less operator fatigue, especially when the bars get up to 25"+!
The sprocket on the nose of the bar helps to carry the saw chain through the process of transferring from the top of the bar to the bottom. This process helps to reduce the wear of the bar and allows the nose of the bar to be constructed in a narrower design to improve jobs like limbing and boring. All Stihl bar's are designed with a narrow nose to help reduce kickback tendencies.
