The world's most powerful production chainsaw is coming to town. Come in store for a shit hot deal
After gruelling tests around the world, including Australia, the new MS 881 is ready for launch with stock about to reach the warehouse.
The introduction of the modern 2-MIX engine delivers an impressive 1.5kg/kW – the same power-to-weight ratio as the class-leading MS 880. The MS 881 will also meet the strict requirements of Euro stage V exhaust emissions standards; the only chainsaw in its class to achieve that certification.
It features the stop button much like the MS 500i where the saw is always in the on position and ready to start. The newly designed oil pump delivers the right amount of oil all the time, especially when you decide to turn it up a few notches and put a huge bar on this beast and the Euro stage V emission is super special in its design.
Other new features include the optimised sprocket cover with captive nuts, HD2 filter and new oil pump for regulated oil delivery to match demand. The addition of a diagnostic port enables accurate data from engine electronics for efficient servicing. The STIHL Australia Technical and Training Manager who oversaw testing says: 'the MS 881 has to be used to fully appreciate the improved responsive nature as a result of the re-designed engine.’ This makes us seriously excited to bring this tool to the market and sell it to those serious Aussie woodcutters.
Check out the video below which showcases both the MS 880 and the MS 881 with a couple of points of difference explained by the fellas at the end of the clip!
